Nolvadex and Gynocomastia
This medicine is used as a first line of defense against breast cancer. Nolvadex has a good number of applications for the use of steroids athletes. First, the most common use is to prevent gynocomastia. Nolvadex It actually compete for the receptor site in breast tissue, and binding to it. Thus, we can safely say that the effect of tamoxifen is through estrogen receptor blockade of breast tissue (1), especially since total body estradiol increases with use of tamoxifen. Obviously, if you are in a cycle which includes steroids which convert to estrogen, you may want to consider nolvadex as a good choice to run alongside them.

Nolvadex Cycle
Nolvadex however, is not the most potent compounds we can use auxiliary in a cycle, but it’s probably safer considering that in reality does not reduce estrogen in the body in maintaining estrogen floating around some could have many gains in muscle growth, as well. Estrogen is also important to a properly functioning immune system, and not only that, but your lipid profile (both HDL and LDL) also show marked improvement with administration of tamoxifen (4). Many bodybuilders use these things during their cycle of health benefits provided by it. However, if you are preparing for a bodybuilding contest, you need to suck something that most (if not all) of estrogen in your body. In infertile men hypogonadic given nolvadex, increases in serum levels of LH, FSH, and most importantly, testosterone were all observed (2) (3). The best (approximate) estimate I can give you my research 20mgs of Nolvadex is that testosterone levels increased about 150% (5) … and this of course greatly aid post-cycle recovery. What this means for us is that if you take Nolvadex after a cycle when you are trying to raise their levels of testosterone, LH and FSH back to normal, which will greatly aid recovery. In fact, if it is limited to a compound to help me after a cycle of recovery, Nolvadex would be my choice. If you want a comparison, would require 150mgs of Clomid to perform this type of elevation in testosterone, nolvadex but also significantly increased the LH (Leutenizing Hormone) response to LHRL (5), after 6 weeks.

Some of the harshest ancillary compounds available today will give a more “dry” look that nolvadex can not, but it’s just safer to use nolvadex in a long time (more than 16 weeks) cycles.

Nolvadex Side Effects
Unfortunately, Nolvadex is not perfect. Anecdotally, it has been linked to reduced gains in some bodybuilders. This is not due, as previously thought, reducing their levels of estrogen (not), but possibly its ability to reduce IGF (insulin-like growth factors), which is important for muscle growth.

Personally, I have had many successful cycles with nolvadex as well as without, but it is certainly a testament to the efficacy in preventing gynocomastia. Back in the late 90’s I bought 30 sheets of 10 mg Nolvadex for $ 30, and recently I have found for less at several Internet sites. It’s worth the money.
